Obituary of Richard Deschenes

Richard (Dickey) Deschenes of Toms River NJ passed away 9/4/2021 in his home peacefully of natural causes with family by his side. Richard was born 11/11/1930 in Berlin NH where he went to public school and graduated with a degree from the school of hard knocks! Dickey was a successful restaurateur for many years in Teaneck NJ before retiring to the Villages FL. He was married to his beloved wife Terri for 67 years. Dickey was an avid golfer and loved to give lessons to anyone who asked for help. He also loved to fish,travel and was an extremely creative person who was always working on homemade projects and repairs to make life easier! Dickey was also very proud of his service in the Navy in which he served on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge, He was a true patriot and loved his country. Dickey is survived by his 3 sons Richard(Renee) Deschenes JR, Chris (Heather) Deschenes and Keith (Holly) Deschenes ; Grandchildren Christie Lee Rodzen, Jacquenline Barnicle, Amanda Willems and 7 great grandchildren. Please join the family at St. Lukes Roman Catholic Church of Toms river NJ on 9/22/2021 @ 10:30 for a mass and a celebration “Dickeys” life immediately following at the Olive Garden on Hooper Ave. in Toms River NJ.
