Obituary of James M Bartell

James M Bartell, 87, passed peacefully into the arms of his heavenly Father on February 6, 2022. Jim had a passion for life and education. He was caring, kind hearted, and loved to laugh. He was committed to those he loved. Jim lived his life with determination, let goodness & common sense guide him. He had a strong moral code, and a positive outlook on life. He worked for Gumpert Foods for 30 yrs as the Head Maintenance Mechanic. He graduated from DeVry Technical Institute at age 55, and moved on to a new career path with Castrol Oil, until he retired and then volunteered for his church. Born in Union, NJ he was one of 11 children and was a caring brother to his siblings. His cherished sister, Patricia Rotondo, of Port Monmouth, NJ survives him. He resided in Newark, NJ for most of his life and later moved to Ocean Cty. His wife, the love of his life for 41 yrs MaryAnn (nee Costa), predeceased him. Devoted father to his adoring daughters Mary Catherine Cholminsky (Glenn), Patricia A Teixeira (John), Barbara J Sarabando (Eduardo) and loving stepfather to James Moriarty, Patricia Moriarty, Thomas Moriarty, Meagan Steinwaggner (James). Devoted and loving grandfather to James, Michelle, Jessica, Danielle, Christopher, Jason, John, Amanda, Brian, Elena, Matthew, Natasha, Melissa, TJ, Hannah, and a great granddaughter Hailey Jane. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Feb 14, 2022 at 11 am St Peter’s Church located at 406 Forman Ave, Pt Pleasant Beach, NJ.
