Obituary of Ruth Ann Lederer

Ruth Ann Lederer (January 1, 1941- August 9, 2022) Ruth Ann (Jeffries) Lederer of Manchester, NJ went to join the Lord Jesus peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on August 9, 2022. Ruth grew up in Gladwyn, PA, on the Main Line area of Philadelphia and graduated from Harriton High School. She furthered her education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Her teaching career began as a home economics teacher at Central Regional High School in Bayville, NJ, in the mid-1960s. In September of 1966, Ruth started teaching in the Toms River Regional School District at Intermediate East and Intermediate West until she retired in 1997. Ruth was also an entrepreneur at heart and loved her involvement with businesses, including Avon for 42 years and Premier Designs Jewelry. Ruth’s passion for family, friends, travel, her cats, gardening, cooking, entertaining, and decorating for the holidays demonstrated her love for life and people. She made friends easily and made everyone around her feel special. Her love for God, spirited elegance, natural leadership, and gift of giving captured everyone’s heart. Ruth is predeceased by her husband Robert Lederer Jr., and brother Samuel Jeffries, Jr. She is survived by her loving son and daughter in law, Rick (Tina) James; her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Brooke (Michael) White, Ashtin James, Rianna James, and Mason James; and her great grandchildren, Fallon White and Bridgette White. Ruth is also survived by her siblings, Eleanor Wagner, Doris Frizen, and Miriam Grubb. Her surviving adored nieces and nephews are David Jeffries, Bob Jeffries, Mary Sinclair, Debbie Dambrackus, Lyn Kraftson, Joan Ball, Charles Wagner, Scott Frizen, Jim Frizen, Dwight Frizen, Carlie Denny, Richard Grubb, Karen Guerin, Barbara Fay, David Grubb, and Courtney Lederer. Ruth will be honored at a celebration of life service scheduled for October 1st. Details will follow.
