Obituary of Linda J Rao

Linda "Bucky" J. Rao (nee Sprague) was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at age 73. Linda was born on May 30, 1949 in Lakewood, NJ. She lived in Manahawkin most of her life before settling in Barnegat. After graduating from Southern Regional High School, Linda, joined the United States Marine Corp, where she was ranked Corporal. While in the military she met her former husband. Together, they had three children: Nicholas, Christopher, and Candace. Linda devoted much of her time to work. She was employed by Southern Ocean County Hospital for 33 years where she enjoyed her co-workers and her career as a Unit Secretary. Once retired she cared for her mother and brother. She is survived by her sons, Nicholas and Christopher Rao, daughter Candace Sharkey, son-in-law James (Jim) Sharkey, grandchildren Megan Aspromonte, Chelsea Rao, Ryan Sharkey, and Jordyn Sharkey, great-grandchildren Jarred (JJ) Russell and Nickolas (Niko) Aspromonte, brother Warren (Buck) Sprague. She is pre-deceased by parents Edward and Eileen Sprague, and brother Lawrence (Larry) Sprague. In accordance with Linda's wishes, there will be no funeral or burial. A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Brighton at Barnegat Clubhouse, Barnegat, NJ @12pm.
