Antonio T. Cicalese, age 96, of Manchester Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home. He was born in Newark, NJ on April 17, 1926 to Carmine and Theresa Cicalese. Antonio attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Grammar School and graduated East Side High School in Newark. After attending architectural school, he joined the United States Army. He landed in Hiroshima, then onto the Philippines as a Corporal in the 1 st Calvary for four years and obtained an Honorable Discharge. Upon his return home, he became an Irvington Firefighter for 40 years. Antonio served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Irvington Relief Association. He retired to Toms River, NJ 32 years ago. Antonio is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Roseann (Serio); a son Carmen Cicalese; his 2 loving daughters, Joanne Colangelo and Theresa Misita: a cherished grandson John Colangelo and his dear sister-in -law, Millie Gearl. He has many nieces and nephews, especially Phil and Nancy Huber, Donald and Carole Huber and Theresa Ann and Joseph Schimelpfening whom he loved dearly. Funeral Services will be Monday 11:30am, April 17, 2023 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
