Uncle Red was always talked about by my Mother, Deanna and I hope now they are reunited up in Heaven. Although we never got to spend a lot of time together, when we did, he was always nice to me and my family and loved to talk. Luckily I got to reconnect with Uncle Red over the last few years and he will be missed. I am so sorry for you loss Michael and Donna.

I loved Walter and consider myself lucky to have been his daughter-in-law. He was very kind to me.
Unfortunately, I had lost my own father when I was 25. Walter never presumed that he could replace my father but was pleased none-the-less that I had no objections to calling him Dad. Having him step into that role for me helped fill a void in my life, especially getting to celebrate Father's Day again and being able to buy "Dad" cards for every holiday.
Walter was very appreciative of everything and we became quite close over the years. One of my favorite things was to make him laugh and smile.
I know when he lost his wife of 63 years, Loretta, he had a very hard time. A few years later when he suffered a fall in his home and it was determined that he could not live on his own any more was also very difficult for him.
Thankfully, in time, Walter adjusted to his new situation and very much benefited from the social interaction and activities where he lived. He made many friends but of course his favorites were the young, pretty nurses and aides who attended to him but his heart belonged to his wife, Loretta.
Walter made a lot of lives better just for having known him, me included. He was always smiling and friendly and will be sorely missed. He leaves behind a legacy that will be hard to beat. I know that I will miss seeing him and the daily phone conversations Michael and I had with him but I also know that he is at peace now and happily reunited with the love of his life, Loretta.
Until we meet again.....
Donna

Dad, thank you for all the things you did for me. You taught me how to ride a bike, drive a car, fix a car, be a weekend handyman (although I could never hold a candle to you), tie my shoes, tie a knot in a necktie, shave.
I always admired how handy you were, Whether repairing a vehicle or doing repairs around the house. You always had that natural ability to see how things went together or came apart. You would have made a great engineer probably with inventions and patents.
There are two things that really stick with me that showed me what a special guy you were. When I was a boy and playing with our German Shepard Queeny in the backyard and she ran and cut her foot on the bottom of the chain link fence how you put her over your shoulders and carried her for several blocks to the vet.
The second thing was when as a 13 year old I wanted a mini bike and mom said no many times but you persuaded her that it would be OK and for months you secretly put together a mini bike from scraps - an engine from a lawnmower, a frame here a sprocket there and when all the pieces came together you painted it candy apple purple with a white sprocket and you and mom surprised me for Christmas - I had no idea and was blown away.
I also admired how you had never bowled before but joined a league with guys from work bowling a best game of 296.
Dad, I will always miss you dearly.
Love, Michael
