Elisa “Lee” Gentile of Toms River, formerly of Bayonne, sadly passed away on June 1, 2023, at
age 71, after a short illness. Lee was born on December 22,1951 to Ferruccio Vincenzo &
Florence S. Gentile and predeceased her sisters, Linda Gentile and Jeanne Cuseglio. She is
survived by her loving and loyal wife of 23 years, Casey Glover Gentile, her beloved four-legged
wonder, Alfie, as well as many family and friends. Some of Lee’s greatest joys included her
niece, Ashley Gentile, and nephews, Ralph Cuseglio and Ethan and Jaxon Attar.
Lee retired from the New Jersey Board of Elections, where she was held in high regard during
her long career and was awarded and gained acclaim for her accomplishments.
Lee was looked up to and gained the respect of many public officials. She was sought out by
judges, attorneys, mayors, governors, and dignitaries from all over the world for her insights into
the democratic election process.
Lee will always be remembered for her generosity of spirit and willingness to help anyone in
need. She shared this with her family, friends, and even strangers. Lee enjoyed everything that
life had to offer. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City with family and friends. She also loved to
travel, especially to visit beaches all over the world. Lee’s favorite activities were being out on
the water catching crabs with friends and family, spending time with loved ones, or just sitting
outside in her backyard enjoying the lake view with her wife, Casey.
Lee’s family, friends, and all who knew her will miss her terribly. Anyone who knew her will tell
you how fortunate they were to have had Lee Gentile in their lives. Lee you are...THE BEST.
Plans for a memorial will be announced and are forthcoming.
