Obituary of Deborah Ann Addesso
Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Deborah Ann Addesso, 68, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, on June 20th, 2023.
She was born on May 1, 1955, to Rudy Addesso and Virginia Addesso-Herr in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and raised in Neptune, New Jersey.
Deborah studied and received a bachelors in psychology at Elizabethtown College and graduated class of 1977. She later went on to obtain a double Masters in Educational Leadership Principal at Monmouth University class of 2001.
She devoted her life to educating and advocating for children. She worked as a special education teacher, guidance counselor, principal and Director of Pupil Services for Stafford School District from July 1981 to July 2015. Those who had the privilege of working with her can all say that she was truly dedicated to helping not only her students, but her colleagues alike. This was proven when she received the honor of Teacher of the Year.
When she wasn’t focused on her profession in education, she partook in many hobbies. One she is most known for is her exquisite baking skills; her knot cookies were a treat to all, and Debbie loved baking them for those she cared about. She also spent much of her time involved with St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church as a member of the choir, Catechism teacher, and parishioner. Along with her love of baking and the church, she was also an avid Mets fan from her teenage years throughout adulthood and enjoyed both watching and attending games. Disney was another love of hers.
Her number one passion was loving animals, especially her precious dog, Jessa Rae. You could always find an array of pictures of Jessa Rae posing with birthday hats, Christmas outfits and more. Her love for her baby was known to all.
Deborah is survived by (Poppy) Richard Herr, her precious dog, Jessa Rae and many of her loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
She is preceded by her mother, Virginia Addesso-Herr, and father Rudy Addesso.
Debbie was a beloved daughter, niece, cousin, godmother, and friend to all. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her, and her beautiful spirit will forever stay with us.
A mass and repast luncheon will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday July 29, 2023 at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor Township, 08087.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in memory of Deborah Ann Addesso.
