Thomas Edward Fortier passed away suddenly on July 13, 2023 at the age 69. Tom was born in

Milwaukee, Wisconsin on New Year’s Day on January 1, 1954.

Tom grew up in Wisconsin with his 10 siblings – 2 brothers and 8 sisters. He attended college in New

Jersey where he met the love of his life, Candy, on a blind date.

Tom and Candy shared a life raising their two daughters who Tom considered his greatest

accomplishments. All you had to do was ask and he would talk, talk, talk about them! Tom spent his

career in sales and retired a few years ago. In retirement, Tom enjoyed working part time teaching

driver’s education. His greatest joy though was spending time with his five granddaughters – the lights

of his life.

Tom was well versed in so many things and when asked how he knew the random information he always

seemed to know, he would reply “I am a man of useless knowledge!”

Tom’s love of his family was forever strong. He was always there when you needed him to support,

advise, encourage, or pick something up at ShopRite!

Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Candy; his two daughters, Nicole and her husband Paul and

Lindsay and her husband Matt; his five granddaughters who brought endless joy and happiness,

Makenzie, Natalia, Alexa, Olivia and Brooklyn. Tom is also survived by his brother and best friend, Joe;

his seven sisters, Kay, Joanne and husband Jerry, Nancy and husband Frank, Julie and husband Rich,

Wendy, Susie and husband Roger, and Jean and husband Todd; his brothers-in-law Jim and wife Rose

and Nick and wife Karen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom was a man who was loved by his family and who will forever be missed.
