It is with deep regret and sadness to announce the passing of Daniel J. Hillard (Meef)...born in

Elizabeth, living most of his life in Linden NJ, working various jobs, including his last and

favorite job at Linden Cab Company. Daniel was 67 years old at the time of his passing, having

been through numerous health challenges, he never let it get him down; a warrior to the end.

Daniel was a self-taught talent of many things, but his favorite thing was to play guitar, make

people laugh, and be with his loving family. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart but not shy

to speak his mind, especially when you messed with his loved ones. Whenever we hear the

guitar gently weep, we will know that you are close by, never to be forgotten.

Daniel is predeceased by his father, Ira, mother, Mary Catherine, brothers, Tommy, Jimmy and

Paul, and their loving sister Joanne. He is survived by his best friend, loving wife and caretaker

of almost 40 years, Joanie; his brother Billy and wife Grace of PA.; a daughter Danette of NC,

grandchildren Isaiah and Abel, step-grandchildren Julianne, Monroe, Grayson, Carly,

Trevor, Tommy and Leah. Village grandchildren; Lulu, Nicolas, Ryan, Grace, Abraham and

Lucy; brother and sister in laws, numerous nieces and nephews who he loved like his own, and

extended family and friends.
