William Frank Harrold

We are saying farewell to a beautiful soul, William Frank Harrold, who passed away on October

21, 2023 at the age of 90 after a long illness. He was born October 7, 1933 in Linden, New

Jersey. Bill grew up in North Plainfield and after graduating from North Plainfield High School

he enlisted in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. He received an honorable discharge

and went on to pursue his college education through the GI Bill at Upsala College. He was

employed with Van Waters and Rogers as Branch Manager and Account Executive.

Bill was a member of Mach I Pilot’s Association and achieved the private pilot, instrument

and commercial ratings. He also enjoyed boating, skiing and golfing.

After retiring Bill and Beverly moved to Bayville where they enjoyed the beautiful Jersey

shore Beaches and Barnegat Bay. They both then volunteered their time as members of the

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Elizabeth Harrold, brothers Jackie, Robert Jr.

and sister Gwendolyn Durrant. He is survived by wife Beverly Bauer Harrold of 61 years, his

sister Gayle Gorman, daughters Allyson Bertelli, Cynthia Harrold, son Kenneth Harrold,

grandchildren Frankie-Lynn Padula and Haleigh Bertelli.

He was a true inspiration to all who knew him for his wonderful sense of humor, kindness,

loving heart and gentle soul.

There will be a private memorial service to honor his passing.
