Matthew Francis DeMichele Obituary

Matthew Francis DeMichele, 54 of Seaside Park, NJ passed away on

February 4, 2024. Matthew was born September 9, 1969. He spent his

early years in Leonia, NJ and the past 15 years Seaside Park, NJ.

During his younger years, he learned his love of swimming, spending a

majority of his summers at the town pool and became a highly competitive

swimmer holding many records. Matthew graduated from Leonia High

School and attended Florida Southern University and William Paterson

University. Matthew was a personal chef featured in the NY Post and

coordinated movie premieres in NY City for many years. Matthew was a NJ

licensed realtor serving the Seaside Park and Lavallette areas. In addition

to being a realtor, Matthew served as a Seaside Park Councilman and was

honored to serve as Seaside Park Council President for 2 three year terms.

All of this did not impede his love for cooking and serving others.

Matthew is survived by his long term partner of 27 years, Thomas Cali, his

parents, Patrick and Jean DeMichele, his siblings Patrick DeMichele , Amie

Hillenbrand and husband Shawn. Loving Uncle to Christopher, Tyler,

Shaina, Kayla, Colin and Jason. Predeceased by his sister in law Jodi

DeMichele.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Union Church of Seaside

Park, 47 4th Ave, Seaside Park from 1-3pm, with a remembrance from 2:30

to 3:00pm, on Monday, February 12,2024. There will be a Memorial Mass

at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, 470 Broad Ave in Leonia, NJ on

Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be

made in Matthew’s name to www.hopeshedslight.org and Union Church of

Seaside Park.
