George J. Kura, 73 of Berkeley Twp, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was born in Somerville, NJ to George and Edith Kura. He grew up with an older sister, Joyce, a twin brother, Glenn and a younger brother, David in New Brunswick, NJ. In 1973, George married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Nina Kulihin, in New Brunswick, NJ. Their union was a testament to love and commitment, lasting an impressive 50 years. They moved to Manchester Twp, NJ in 1977 and lived there with their 3 children. George worked at Lorco Petroleum Services for 36 years before retiring in 2020. His work ethics and commitment left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and spending time with friends and family, but most of all spoiling his 8 grandchildren at every opportunity. He was known as Pop-Pop to many. George will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Kura, and his sister Joyce Bogdanowicz. He will be forever missed by his wife, Nina; a daughter Jennifer and her husband Richard Fonti of Manchester, NJ, and two sons, Kevin and his wife Dana of Whiting, NJ, and James and his wife Laura of Toms River, NJ: and his 8 grandchildren, Cassie, Kaleb, Becky, Paige, Claire, Rowe, Sadie and Maysea. A memorial service to honor and celebrate George's life will be held at Ocean County Cremation Service 1252 Route 37 West, Toms River, New Jersey 08755 on March 23, 2024, from 2 – 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the CHOP Children's Fund in George's memory.
