Nancy Allan (nee Littauer), 89, of Forked River

passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024,

with her loving family beside her.

The daughter of Kalman J. and Helen Littauer, she

was raised on a farm in Warwick, NY. Nancy

attended Tenafly High School, Tenafly NJ, class of

1953. She went on to graduate from Hackensack

School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1956.

She began her nursing career as a summer camp

nurse in New Hampshire where she met George,

and they married in 1959. From their apartment in

Union City, they moved to Pine Beach and later

settled in Toms River where they raised three boys.

She spent most of her career as an Emergency

Room nurse at Community Memorial Hospital in

Toms River, building lifelong friendships and

memorable stories, before retiring in 1996.

She devoted her life to her three sons, providing

unconditional love, advice and friendship. After her

youngest son James was injured in a car accident,

she remained at his side and in his corner, allowing

him a second chance at life. Nancy always made

time to help anyone in need or to lend an ear, just to

listen, and was always most comfortable surrounded

by her boys and their friends. She loved to craft

homemade items, read, garden and enjoyed time

relaxing with her family.

Nancy was pre-deceased by her parents, sister

Barbara Allio, brother Kenneth Littauer, ex-husband

George and her son James. She is survived by her

sons Geordie (Kerrianne) and Rob (Susan),

grandchildren Jeff (Liz), Ricky and Riley, great

grandchildren Austin, Jaiden and Gray, great-great

grandchild Clara, brother-in-law Robert Allio,

nephews Mark and Michael Allio and niece Lindsey

Littauer.

Everyone that knew her knew she was a great friend

and loving mother. Her family and friends will always

remember her sense of humor, kindness, tenacity

and selfless, altruistic nature.

Please remember her in your own special way, but

always with a warm smile or gentle thought.
