Benjamin (Sonny) F Tenny, 91 of Toms River originally from Staten Island, NY.
And Forked River, NJ passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 with loving family by his
side. He was extremely proud of his long career as a heavy equipment operator
and foreman in the construction industry with L & T Construction of Staten Island
and with Lomma Construction until his retirement. He was a diligent, hard worker
who was well respected by his co-workers, and he did all he could to provide for
his large family. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa
and great grandpa, and friend who was always cheerful, whistling and singing
throughout his life. He is predeceased by his loving wife Joan Tenny, parents,
Benjamin and Helen Tenny, and his Stepfather James Santry, beloved son Thomas
Tenny, his brother Edward Santry. Ben is survived by his children, Kathleen Borys,
Michael Tenny and his wife Candi, Georgia Quackenbush, Kelly O’Connor and
her husband, Tom, Nancy Nacion, Cindy Mowery and her husband, Dan, as well as
his brother. James (Mickey) Santry and his wife Joan and several nieces and
nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memory 30 grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren who adored their grandpa and their Pop Pop, as well as a legacy of
family, love and a life well lived.
Memorial service arrangements are private. Messages of condolences can be left
on the website of Ocean County Cremation Service in Toms River. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to Children’s International in his memory as he
