Frank E. Kondas Obituary

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Frank E. Kondas, who passed on July 17th, 2024, at age 89.

Frank was born on November 21st, 1934, in Port Reading, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Class of 1953, whereafter he proudly served in The National Guard. He proudly rose to the rank of Sgt. 1st Class “A” Company Platoon Leader, Armor Tank Company M-47, until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

In the previous year he met the love of his life, Lillian Rogozinski, after crashing a wedding reception. Shortly thereafter they began dating and were married on March 21st, 1959. They enjoyed many years together raising five children, as well as evenings in Atlantic City, visiting many a yard sale, watching the Yankees win, and avidly gardening together. Frank enjoyed polka dancing with his wife whenever the occasion arose. He was a proud member of the Toms River Elks, where he also enjoyed competing in the dart and horseshoe leagues.

Frank’s field of expertise was in the industrial tube, pipe, and fittings field. During his career, he greatly enjoyed working with his colleagues and customers. He retired from Tube Sales in 1999 after seventeen years with the company. Frank did his best to help and serve all he encountered.

Frank is preceded by his wife, Lillian, and his beloved dog, Holly. He is survived by his five children, as well as his five grandchildren. A memorial to celebrate Frank’s life will be held and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Popcorn Park Zoo at 1 Humane Way, Forked River, New Jersey, 08731.
