Marjorie A. Loveland (Curren)
March 8, 1943 - August 19, 2024
Marjorie A. Loveland, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving
family. Born on March 8, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, Marjorie was the devoted wife of Robert
Charles Loveland, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship.
Marjorie was the cherished mother of Sharon Loveland, David Loveland, and Michele Dragos
and is remembered fondly by her granddaughters Courtney Rodberg, Meagan Thistle, Allison
Obiso, Emily Dragos, and Natalie Dragos. Her great-grandchildren, Penelope and Caleb
McCullough, brought immeasurable joy to her life. Marjorie was also a loving sister to Edna
Fischer, Claire Laney, and Sharon Hackett, and she leaves behind a close-knit extended family.
She is preceded in death by her son, David M. Loveland; her mother, Margaret Helen Kohl; her
sister, Edna B. Fischer; and her grandmother, Anna G. Kohl.
Marjorie had a passion for music, dancing, and playing the piano. She delighted in reading a
good romance novel, gardening, and baking, especially her famous Christmas cookies, which
were eagerly anticipated each and every year. Marjorie also enjoyed playing games with
friends, particularly dominoes, aggravation (‘marbles’), and bunco. Beating her husband, ‘Bob’,
would always bring a mischievous smile to her face.
Known for her determination, spunk, and wit, Marjorie was a woman who knew what she
wanted. She was unwavering in her care, support, and love, often opening not just her heart,
but also her home. Her infectious laugh, her warm blue-eyed gaze, and her legacy as the
steadfast matriarch of her family will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege
of knowing and loving her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marjorie's memory to the
Alzheimer’s Foundation, honoring her life and the love she shared.
A Celebration of Life for Marjorie will be held on Saturday, Sept 28th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St
Andrew United Methodist Church—1528 Church Road, Toms River. A repass will be held
directly following in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
