Etsuko Harrison, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (Obachan), and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 20, 2024, just one day before her 96th birthday. Born in Japan, Etsuko, affectionately known as Ginger, moved to the United States in her early twenties with her young and growing family, embracing new opportunities and making lasting memories.
Etsuko dedicated over 40 years of her life to her career as an electronic assembler at EAI, where her meticulous work earned her the respect of her colleagues. After retiring, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Known for her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit, Etsuko devoted her life to her family, nurturing her children with love and instilling in them the values of hard work and compassion. She enjoyed going for walks, drinking hot water, sharing her Japanese culture, and watching the New York Yankees.
Etsuko is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Chris, Denise, and Andrew; her deeply treasured great-grandchildren, Addison, Maisie, Madelyn, Summer, and Bodhi; and she held the memory of her late son, Dennis, and her husband, John, close to her heart. She is remembered by a wide circle of family and friends whose lives she touched with love, joy, and gratitude.
A memorial service will be held on October 26, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Ocean County Cremation Service, 1252 Rt 37 West, Toms River, Nj 08755, with a reception to follow.
Etsuko Harrison will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering love, beaming spirit, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
