Jay was born , April 30, 1952 in Trenton, N.J. son of Elizabeth H. Youngs and Allan R. Youngs.
He graduated from Pennington N.J. High School in 1970.
During his working life he worked as a mechanic for various shops and at a pinball distributer,
Mondial. His last position was at the Home Depot in Manahawkin , N.J. Jay was there for
24 years and kept putting off retirement because he loved speaking and helping customers.
The family vacation in the 1000 Islands at Clayton, N.Y. When he was twelve years old he
received his Coast Guard boating license and from 1964-1966 he was a race boat driver beating
many older drivers.
Jay was also a host for the first two years of the boat show and parade which later became the
Antique Boat Museum. Beside boating, fishing and just being on the water Jay was an
accomplish musician and was in several bands. Jay won the battle of the bands at Princeton ,
N.J. Also, he formed a band from Home Depot called the Depot Dogs.
Jay is survived by his sister Carolyn G. Youngs, an cousins David and Christop Himmelsbach,
and Julie Himmelsbach. Marianne D. Bennison and Mark Duggan, Cousins . Also, many cousins
on the Youngs side.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 14th, in Toms River, N.J., from 2 to 4 pm.
