Obituary of Dick Kabobjian

KABOBJIAN Dick, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday January 6, 2017. Born in 1921, Dick was raised in Union City, NJ. He and his beloved wife Betty, who passed in October 2013, moved to Florida after raising their family in Fort Lee, NJ, and moved back to NJ in 2009. Proud of their Armenian heritage, Dick (and Betty) were very actively involved with St. Thomas and St. David Armenian churches in NJ and Florida. Dick cherished his family and they him. He leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law Janet and George Cook, his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Lora Kabobjian, five grandchildren and eleven great grand- children. Having lived through the Great Depression, Dick learned the value of hard work and providing for your family and instilled those values on his extended family. A very handy man he was always helping others with household or church related projects and never looked for anything in return. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Dick’s memory to the St. David’s Armenian Church, 2300 NW 31st Street, Boca Raton, Florida, 33431. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Armenian Church, 174 Essex Drive, Tenafly, NJ 07670 followed by a luncheon at The Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service, Forked River.
