Doris Thornstrom (nee Carty), 89, of Forked River, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 21. Born in August 11, 1927 at North Hudson Hospital in Weehawkin, NJ, Doris lived in Dumont and Old Tappan, NJ before settling in Lacey Township in 1973. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth and son, Steven, Doris is survived by her daughters Christine Albanese and husband Kenneth of Pearl River, NY, Beth Di Fabio and fiance Steve Stanion of Forked River, Joanne Renken and husband Walter of Manahawkin, NJ and her son Michael Thornstrom and wife Paula of Huntington, WV. Doris had 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was active in the Women’s Club of Lacey of which she was President from 2002-2004, The Merilee Singers 2000-2014, Junior Womens club of New Milford, N.J. 1967-1972 She loved playing cards, Majong and Bunco. She loved people and was an inspiration to many. A memorial service will be held on February 4, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Forked River Presbyterian Church, 131 North Main Street, Forked River, NJ.
