Obituary of Albert Lloyd McNomee

Albert Lloyd “Bert” McNomee died January 25th at his home in Forked River. He was born in Brooklyn N.Y. June 10,1919. He grew up in Oakland and Franklin Lakes NJ. He was a graduate of Pompton Lakes HS,1936, and Lafayette College, 1940, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. In 1942 he was an officer in the Navy and served as Captain of a Subchaser in the South Pacific. After the war, he was an editor for the Journal of Commerce and later became Director of Public Relations for Uniroyal Corp and retired in 1976 whereupon he studied watercolors becoming a well know local artist in Bergen and Ocean Counties. He was President of Community Arts Association of Allendale NJ and President of Ocean County Artist Guild in Island Heights NJ. He was married to Katherine Berdan McNomee formerly of Wayne for 68 years. He is survived by sons Bert (Janice) and Fred (Nancy Jean) McNomee and Daughter Gale Magann, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
