Obituary of Charles Cicero

Charles Cicero, 60: On Wednesday, February 8, 2016, Charles passed away peacefully after his courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. His two daughters by his side. He was born on November 2, 1956 to the proud parents of Mary (nee Macaluso) and Charles Cicero. He was the beloved father of Theresa Cicero and Christina Ortiz and her husband Christopher Ortiz. He was the admirable Pop-Pop of Juliana,Gabriella, Sofia, Francesa and Christopher (Junior, as he called him). He was the youngest brother of Joseph and his girlfriend Lisa and Vincent Cicero and his wife Joanne. He was a dear friend and brother-in-law to Vera Cicero. He was the proud Uncle of Stephen his wife Lauren, Melissa, Jessica , Amanda her husband Christopher. Maria her boyfriend Joe, Michele her husband Peter and Carlyanne. He was a great uncle to Shane, Westley, Isabella and Abigail. He was the devoted long-time companion of Elizabeth Bonsignore. He was a great friend to many and loved by all. His smile was infectious and laugh was even more. He attended New Dorp High School where he had an outstanding football career and graduated in 1974. Charles, known as Chuck to many and Chef to others, was an incredibly talented man who use his talent and passion of cooking to make others smile, especially his family. He had a lengthy career as the Executive Chef at the former South Shore Country Club. He continued his career in New Jersey with a company named Aramark. He was a huge asset to his company, not only taking his cooking skills with him but his professional and management expertise. He was loved by many at his job. He retired in August. He had many hobbies which included riding his Harleys, restoring old furniture and gardening. He loved vacations to St. Martins and Italy. Most importantly, he love gathering family together and cooking exceptional meals. As per his wishes, there will be a memorial mass on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:30am at Holy Rosary Church.
