Obituary of Joseph E. Heid Jr.

Joseph E. Heid Jr. of Lavallette, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on February 12th, 2017. Born on February 24th, 1931 in Jersey City to Ethel (Varga) and Joseph E. Heid. He owned and operated the family wholesale florist business, Joseph E. Heid & Son Inc. until he retired. He was also President of the NJ State Florist Association for many years and a Director for Farm Credit Bank. He had a genuine talent and love of horticulture. Joe is survived by his wife Evy of 29 years. His only sister Evelyn Reiff of Downsville, NY. His four sons, Gary, Richard, John (Maria), Russell and his daughter Lauren (Harry) and 10 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, 3 Nieces and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Joseph E. Heid III and Randall S. Heid. A Memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church 415 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ 08753 at 3:00 pm. on Saturday February 18th, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Episcopal Church in memory of Joseph E. Heid Jr.
