Elizabeth M. Kappler (Betty), age 95, passed away on Sunday, March 5th, 2017 at the Shorrock Gardens Care Center in Brick, NJ. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Walter and Elizabeth Wilson. They immigrated to the US in the 1920’s and, along with aunts, uncles and cousins, settled in Union NJ. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William; their son William Jr and his wife Sue; their son Alan and his wife Marie and by their daughter Elizabeth Ploskonka and her husband, John. She also leaves behind six grandchildren (Jacqui, Matthew, Hannah, Jackie, Brenda and Michael); her brother and sister in law Jack and Terry Wilson and many nieces and nephews. Betty will be fondly remembered at the Jersey Shore as she was active in The Presbyterian Church of Toms River in the Sarah Circle. She spent many years in Toms River, living “in town” and at their home in Green Island. A celebration of her life will be held at The Presbyterian Church of Toms River on March 18th at 11AM. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ.
