Kenneth Scott Watson Jr., 85, of Forked River, passed away Tuesday, 2/21/17 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Linden, NJ on March 4, 1931, Ken served his country admirably in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. During the Korean War Ken served in the 43rd infrantry division and was a proud member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Ken worked for C.M.C. Pollution Control in Kearny for many years and later at SOCH in Manahawkin.
Ken enjoyed being outdoors, doing things around the house or inside tinkering on little projects. He had a keen sense of humor and loved practical jokes. He loved his westerns and WWII movies in later years. He had a great fondness for wildlife and animals of all kinds, but his greatest love was for Betty Lou, who he spent the last 33 years together with.
Ken will be greatly missed by his family and friends who he loved so much and the many others whose lives he touched.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Ken S. Watson Sr. and Elsie Shugard Watson; ex wife Margarete Watson; sisters Catherine “Kay” Watson Gregory and Dorothy Watson Hock; and the love of his life Betty Lou Inman.
He is survived by his sister Florence Watson Oppmann; daughter Heni Watson Matthews and husband Steve; son Kenneth Scott Watson III; grandchildren Kenneth Scott Watson IV and wife Stephanie, Brittaney Francis Watson, Taylor Sean Matthews and Nicholas Siudut; great grandchildren Charli Jade Watson and Kayla Siudut as well as his many neices and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, March 23 at 11:00 AM at Ocean County Memorial Park, Rt. 532, Waretown.
